From production to delivery, ANDALIOS focuses on sustainability at every step. The production methods prioritize eco-friendly materials and ethical practices, while shipping is processed in a way that minimises environmental impact. I am committed to not just craft beautiful and unique ceramic pieces, but also to preserving our planet for future generations.

 

CLAY

Clay itself is a naturally sustainable material, abundant and renewable. I cycle to the nearest shop to source the clay locally, reducing transportation emissions and supporting the regional economy.  Additionally, I actively reduce waste by recycling excess materials. 

 

GOLD PLATED ELEMENTS


The gold-plated elements of my earrings are crafted from .925 silver and coated with a durable 3-micron layer of 18k or 24k gold, ensuring they are nickel and lead-free. This high-quality plating enhances durability and shine while maintaining the pieces' status as fine jewellery, setting them apart from bijoux.  I prioritize longevity and comfort, providing durability and an allergy-free experience. My commitment to quality extends beyond materials; every aspect of production is 100% handcrafted by local small businesses in Mexico & Barcelona, fostering a fair-trade environment and bypassing intermediaries or large companies. 

 

JEWELLERY BOXES

ANDALIOS jewellery boxes embody a conscious and sustainable approach. The production process significantly reduces the carbon footprint by working with local suppliers for wooden boxes and employing a compact design for transportation efficiency. The PEFC certification underscores the commitment to responsible sourcing, ensuring each box originates from managed forests and plantations where every harvested tree is replaced.  Crafted from natural ecological wood and cardboard, ANDALIOS jewellery boxes are 100% biodegradable and recyclable. I encourage customers to repurpose the packaging, making them reusable. 

 

CANDLES

All ANDALIOS candles are made with eco-soya wax (certified by Bioinspecta), which is biodegradable, renewable and environmentally friendly. The wax complies with vegan principles and is free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Furthermore, the wooden wicks are also 100% biodegradable, meaning they break down naturally overtime, minimising waste and environmental impact. Unlike some cotton wicks that may have metal cores, ANDALIOS wooden wicks are metal-free. This eliminates the potential environmental impact associated with metal extraction and processing.

 

KRAFT SHIPPING PACKAGING

ANDALIOS Kraft shipping boxes and wrapping paper are sourced from softwood trees like pine, a rapidly renewable resource, when managed sustainably. Both the Kraft boxes and wrapping paper are crafted from unbleached, natural materials, ensuring they are 100% biodegradable and highly recyclable. Moreover, the sturdy nature of the Kraft wrapping paper offers reuse potential, allowing it to find new purposes and extend its lifespan, aligning with our commitment to reducing waste and promoting a circular economy. Last but not least, I use paper tape made from environmentally friendly kraft paper with a solvent adhesive (natural rubber), which is also biodegradable, promoting eco-friendly disposal.

 

LINEN STRINGS & JUTE STRINGS

The linen strings utilise natural jute twine, while the jute strings are composed of natural fibers, ensuring their biodegradability and minimal environmental impact.
